The individual category winners for AJAC’s Canadian Car of the Year have been picked. One of these will be selected Car of the Year during the Toronto International Auto Show early next year:

Korean cars won 5 of the 11 categories. The only domestic car winner was the Dodge Journey.

Yesterday Car and Driver published the annual “10Best” Car list. In it was the BMW 3-series, which has been on the list for 19 years and the ever-present Honda Accord which appeared 24 times.

The winners in each division of the Car of the Year awards were announced today. Out of this list, the overall Car and Truck of the Year will be announced at the Toronto Auto Show.

The Ford Taurus is the only domestic nameplate that won a category. The VW group owns VW, Audi and Porsche and took six categories including both performance car categories. Interesting to note that all six VW winners feature engines with direct injection and forced induction.

LIGHTS won the award for “New Artist of the Year” at the Juno’s tonight.
