Inside Line took a 1994 Porsche 911 against the latest 2010 Porsche Carrera (non-S) to evaluate how the car has evolved in the past 15 years. The 1994-1998 Porsche 911, sometimes called the 993, is the last of the air-cooled, direct descendants of the original 1963 Porsche 911. The 1999 Carrera, called the 996, and 997 from 2005 onward are essentially all new cars – making use of new water-cooled engines, modern car design, and modern features.
