Last week Autotrader launched a new version of their site. The search function has been updated, incorporating realtime search counting (but still one step away from realtime search). You can also filter search results with many more parameters.
This is quite a big improvement, but they still have a ways to go to match the best sites out there. It’s good to seem them putting changes out at a quicker pace and hopefully more is still coming.

The premium compact camera segment is heating up. I’ve blogged about the Canon S90, Samsung TL500 and the Panasonic Lumix LX3 before. For those looking at each of the cameras, I’ve generated a size comparison of each camera using Sizeasy.
Clearly the Canon is the smallest. The Samsung, with the brightest lens and fold-out LCD, takes up the most space.

The Toronto Star rated roast chickens from supermarkets across the city. Their favorite was my favorite too, the roast chicken from Sobey’s. I wish they tested the one from Costco – I haven’t tried it.
I find these pretty useful to prepare a quick meal. Easy to put into a pasta or a salad and have a whole meal.

and I can’t sum it up better than Robert Ebert:
3-D is a distracting, annoying, anti-realistic, juvenile abomination to use as an excuse for higher prices.
This year TV manufacturers are pushing 3D TV. Let’s keep in mind that for 3D your set top box probably needs to be upgraded along with your television. If you have an HDMI receiver, that too will need to be upgraded. While most initial implementations probably use proprietary standards, HDMI 1.4 is being touted for the true 3D experience most initial 3D TV’s are not supporting it. Remember the “HD” and “Full HD” debacle – look for 3D TV’s to come out, then Full 3D to come out a few years later.
If you want the 3D experience, stick to going to the movies at the theatre – and tell that idiot with the video camera that it won’t work in 3D…

The Globe and Mail ran a great article on how many prized family recipes are now within everyone’s reach – you guessed it – on the Internet. It’s cool to see these traditional recipes that used to be handed-down between families now shared with a greater audience. I may pass on the Depression Cooking but I will always try a new Vietnamese stew.

Car and Driver just reviewed four top convertibles from Audi, BMW, Infiniti and Lexus. The Bimmer landed on top although I’m not quite convinced most people would pick the same choice – yielding to the pepper A5 with it’s turbo four and great styling.

Looking for some Nike gear and having trouble finding it? I found this graphic at Endurance Sports – the management company for all the Nike stores in Ontario (with the exception of the Bloor St. store). It’ll help you find what you are looking for.
What’s surprising is how selection some of the gear is, like Tennis and Hockey gear, and only a single store carries the Jordan line.
