Have you checked up on your financial advisor? Since the economy problems of the last year, the securities regulators in Canada are trying to provide more information to consumers about their financial advisors. In Ontario, the OSC has a way to check if the firm or individual is registered with the OSC. They also have an Investors Warning List which is a way of cautioning people about firms that are putting investors at risk. The federal agency also has a list of disciplined individuals.
