Since the launch of the new Audi R8, the company has been busy redesigning many of their cars. This month, the new Audi A4 arrives.
While the company has been busy producing cars like the A3 and A5/S5 with these LED daytime running lights, the A4 is their volume seller. The 2009 model is all new and based on the A5/S5 platform. They sell so many of these A4′s that we’ll likely see these LED lights all over the city soon. They’re as distinguisable as the yellow “coronas” used by BMW.
Check out the new A4 at your dealer, the test cars started arriving last week. Besides the new LED lighting, the engine has been moved rearward for better balance, 40:60 torque split on the centre diff, and features both a 2.0T direct injection engine (the better choice) and a 3.2L V6. The all-new interior features some of the best design in any car.
Crate and Barrel, one of my favorite US-only stores, is finally opening their store in Yorkdale. The store opens September 25 and is on the North side of Yorkdale Mall. Along with the Ikea catalogue, the Crate and Barrel catalogue is now a must-have.
On their website they announced their second Canadian store will be in Calgary.
Right down the street from my favorite pho place, Gwartzman’s has been my go-to place for art supplies for quite a few years now. It’s a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, but they offer good breadth of products and friendly service.
They have sketching, painting and crafting supplies. I was just able to get a huge roll of paper to use as a photo backdrop for only $10. Great prices on artpads and art paper books.
The new 2009 CBR bikes have been announced. Things are not much different but the inclusion of ABS as an option on both the CBR1000RR and CBR600RR should convince many buyers to get this model instead of a used 2007 or 2008.
I saw this poll on Facebook today. Clearly aimed at Canadian users, it asks which bank offers an Aeroplan promotion. While it’s great that 38% recognize that this promotion is being done by CIBC, it is quite surprising that 62% think another bank is offering the promotion. I wonder percentage would be considered an advertising success?
Toronto’s second Le Pain Quotidien now arrives in Yorkville. Located on the corner of Yonge and Yorkville, the new bakery offers fresh sourdough that rivals the best in France. I haven’t tried it when they opened at Yonge/Eglington this spring but now that it’s in the neighborhood it definitely deserves a look.
The humble Wii remote has been “hacked” into normal PC’s for some pretty innovative uses. The demos in this video aren’t that unique, but it is pretty fantastic that a $40 game controller can replicate many features from much more expensive equipment.
