Somehow, an old news article about United Airlines filing for bankruptcy in 2002 got circulated as “new” news on Monday. This had an immediate and dramatic effect on their stock, it fell from $10.60 to around $4 before the stock was halted and new news issued to clarify the incorrect passing of the old news article around the various news services.
