Forbes created a list of the Most Expensive Cars To Repair. They used 2008 repair estimates calculated over a five-year period. Luxury cars were seperated from non-luxury cars by using a $100/hour estimate to the former while only $70/hour labour to the latter.
Here are the rankings of luxury vehicles and their five-year estimated repair cost:
- Audi A8: $1,640
- Mercedes-Benz G Class: $1,640
- Jaguar XK: $1,629
- Land Rover Range Rover: $1,600
- Mercedes-Benz CL Class: $1,540
- BMW 7 Series: $1,529
- Audi Q7: $1,400
- Land Rover LR2/LR3: $1,360
- BMW M6: $1,300
- Porsche Cayman: $1,300
The non-luxury cars were dominated by domestic trucks. Subaru and Mini represented the only imported brands:
- Dodge Viper: $1,641
- Hummer H2: $1,484
- Ford F 450: $1,295
- Dodge 3500: $1,282
- Hummer H3: $1,244
- Ford Mustang: $1,201
- Chevrolet Silverado 3500: $1,094
- Mini Cooper Convertible: $1,093
- Subaru Impreza: $1,006
- GMC Yukon: $970
